Last Thursday’s Music is Medicine benefit raised about $1,700 for the Zachary Foundation’s mission of bringing music instruction and instruments to hospitalized teens at Cook Children’s Hospital. More than a couple hundred people showed up throughout the evening for performances by Stella Rose, The Frontier Brothers, and The February Chorus’ Brandin Lea, plus foundation founder, med student, and singer-songwriter J Mack Slaughter. I am SO stoked about this monetary base to work from,” Slaughter said. “I couldn’t have asked for a better night.”
