Painter, Paschal High School alum, and retired astronaut Al Bean will be exhibiting some of his work this month at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. Though the 77-year-old’s work isn’t challenging, he isn’t a hobbyist. He’s a bona fide painter, with a cartoonish, light-hearted touch and a keen eye for color. A book of the exhibited works will accompany the exhibit.
