‘Survivor’ Extra-Realistic This Season

Why does it seem so fitting that the most conniving, manipulative, lying, greedy snake in the grass ever featured on Survivor is an oil company owner in Texas?

So far Russell Hantz has lied about being stuck on a roof for two days during Hurricane Katrina and losing his dog, emptied teammates’ canteens while they were sleeping, and gleefully told cameras how he would use his allies and then toss them aside like “trash.”

Many North Texans living atop the Barnett Shale have accused oil and gas company owners of pretty much the exact same thing for the past few years.

Hey Survivor is simply a competitive game and there are no rules against lying in it. Russell was just playing the game well. Now in real life if he had been lying about Katrina, etc. he would be a load of #$%!.

I for one was trapped in the Superdome during Katrina and can prove it with my memoir (Diary From the Dome, Reflections on Fear and Privilege During Katrina). This is non-fiction.

That being said, Russell great game playing, but in the real world of oil and gas and person’s lives and economics, never ever fool with us! Got it? Good!
