This week’s ”Stage” review of Jubilee Theatre’s “The Dance on Widow’s Row” rhapsodizes about the four gorgeous and supremely funny female leads. Although the script lets them down all too soon, they’re in top predatory form as money-loving widows with a deadly sting.
Stage veteran Matthew Broderick, on the other hand, isn’t at the top of his game for this week’s NY previews of Kenneth Lonergan’s new play. Here’s a good piece about the age-old phenomenon of line prompts making a comeback. Or, more accurately, never going away. New York City indeed boasts a glamorous and exciting theater scene, but you still have to learn your lines, dammit. (Or, if you’re Angela Lansbury, just wear a high-tech ear piece).
