The Joys, Pains Of Fort Worth’s Record Snow

Posted February 23, 2010 by Jeff Prince in Blotch

When a record snowfall hits Fort Worth, people can’t wait to get out in it and have fun.

A friend of mine still walks with a limp from doing something similar to
these guys.

Many years ago, we tied a ski rope to the back of a guy’s truck after a heavy snowfall and we took turns being pulled around Veteran’s Park in Arlington.

My friend got whipped around the side of the truck, hit a tree, and shattered his leg.

On the bright side, the accident made my friend a better weather forecaster. Now he knows in advance when cold weather is approaching – his bad leg gets stiffer than usual.
