David Fincher and Aaron Sorkin’s movie The Social Network — getting its nationwide release next weekend — appears poised to take a dramatic dump on Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg and, to a lesser extent, the many Facebook members around the world whose self-esteem is weirdly tied in with the site. With Sorkin as the screenwriter, will it be another disposable “zeitgeist” movie? The much-lauded TV show he created, The West Wing, did not age well in reruns.

In any case, check out the latest anti-Facebook tirade by humorist Gene Weingarten, which has of course already been shared thousands of times on FB. My favorite part of the essay – the “Jolly Ranchers vs. kitties” love standoff.
