CINEMATOGRAPHER DAVID BLOOD (LEFT) ON THE SET OF "PIONEER."

Dallas writer-director David Lowery and Fort Worth producer James M. Johnston made a splash on the national film festival circuit with their locally shot, 2009 kids-create-a-world-of-their-own feature St. Nick. Now their short film Pioneer will screen as an official selection at the Sundance Film Festival, which runs January 20-30. The theme of childhood fantasy colliding with adult reality continues for Lowery and Johnston– actor and musician Will Oldham (Junebug, Wendy and Lucy) plays a father who spins a most epic bedtime story for his young son.
