An event that might rival the Super Bowl for action and suspense will be held Thursday at Cowboys Stadium.
Texas’ first ever license plate auction will let motorists bid on the right to own super-desirable seven-character messages for their bumpers.
Only 33 license plates will be auctioned, and RANGERS, MAVSFAN, GO HORNS, and COWBOYS will probably be among the most popular (although, if I had any money I’d bid on FT WORTH).
Winning bidders earn the right to use the plates for 25 years.

The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles contracted My Plates to design, market and sale license plates to raise money for the state’s general fund. Customers can create their own messages, and, if available, purchase custom plates that are perfectly legal.
