Historic Granbury will be the site of an oenophile’s and/or gourmand’s dream Friday and Saturday, April 29 and 30. The 2011 Granbury Wine Walk will feature vino from some of Texas’ most popular wineries, gourmet cuisine from top North Texas chefs and neighborhood restaurants, live music, and exhibitions from celebrated regional artists. While swirling, sipping, and strolling through the Square, attendees will also be able to pause at an education booth for information on grape growing and Texas wineries, whose delicious handiwork will be available for sale either by the glass or bottle. Some participating Texas wineries include Brennan Vineyards, Barking Rocks Winery & Vineyard, Bluff Dale Vineyards, Brushy Creek Vineyards & Winery, CALAIS Winery, Lone Oak Winery, and Los Pinos Vineyards. Wine Walkers also will be afforded special offers from myriad downtown shops and restaurants, including Stringfellows, The Loft, Babe’s, Pearl Street Station, and Hollywood & Vine.

From 7 to 10 p.m. at a private estate on Friday, the Wine ’n’ Dine Chef Spectacular, presented by Texas Toast Culinary Tours, will offer gustatory delights by four of North Texas’ most celebrate chefs: Asdren Azemi (Italian cuisine), Lanny P. Lancarte (Lanny’s Alta Cocina Mexicana), Grady Spears (cowboy cuisine), and Central Market-Fort Worth’s Denise Shavandy. The chefs will be serving up their delicacies –– paired with Texas wines –– from stations situated throughout the estate. The chefs also will be teamed up for a friendly Top Chef-like competition, working from a mystery box of ingredients. Attendees will vote on the winner. Tickets are $85 per person, and some proceeds will benefit the Dora Lee Langdon Cultural & Educational Center in Granbury, the beneficiary of the Wine Walk weekend and a Tarleton State University extension that supports and showcases music and the arts from regionally and nationally renowned artists. 1. The Granbury Wine Walk was a tremendous success last year, and this year’s event even grander, with 12 Texas wineries, and restaurants, and restaurant food vendors like Del Norte Taco, Hoffbrau Steaks, Texas Cheese House, Hill Country Olive Oil Co. and Lone Star Meat Co. /Wentzels , etc. Great wine, food and music. Many merchants on the Square will offer discounts to Wine Walkers. Please, join us for the hospitality of Granbury. The fun & laughter is free!
