Quasi-local film news: Josh Fox, the director of GasLand and a former Weekly profilee, was arrested this morning for trying to film a Congressional committee meeting on fracking and drinking water contamination. Apparently, the House Republicans didn’t like being filmed; they were the ones who ordered the arrest. Fox didn’t have press credentials, though he had requested permission to film beforehand. No response yet from the Republicans in the room. Presumably they’re hiding from cameras. This attempt to circumvent freedom of the press makes you wonder what they want hidden.
