Exciting news for local theatergoers: Amphibian Productions has just announced that they have closed the deal on acquiring the property at 108 S Main Street. This comes after a fund-raising campaign chaired by Oscar-winning actor Kevin Kline that has brought in more than $800,000 toward purchase of the venue. Amphibian now needs an additional $200,000 and change to complete renovation, but after 13 years of wandering between TCU and the Modern Art Museum, one of the city’s most innovative theater troupes can now look forward to a permanent home on the edge of downtown Fort Worth. You can look forward to it as well, with this artist’s rendering of what the building (designed by Gregory Ibáñez) will look like.
