Fort Worth ISD made a stupid misstate like all government agencies seem to do on
a routine basis ..after all it is only citizen/taxpayer funds in
question.

All funds should be returned to this incompetent government entity
... just like one must morally return unearned funds to anyone who has
identified an error in payment.

But as good government employees, the
district’s workforce apparently think like the government entities they work
for ... "I got your money, and you are never getting it back".

I am
familiar with the UEA guy quoted in the story … where citizen/taxpayer dollars
are concerned; he has no problem scheming for every last one of them. Earned or
otherwise!

Thank you for this article.

The Tuesday a.m. meeting of the FWISD Audit
Committee did not even have a quorum, and three board members were no-shows.
Even worse, the audit was not distributed to all audit committee members prior
to the meeting, and there was no discussion of the findings or recommendations
to the full board, as is proper with an advisory committee.

The annual
external audit will come out next week. According to internal auditor Sherman
Harris, it reports other major errors. Yet no review by the audit committee
will be conducted prior to its being presented to the board, and it will be
published only a few hours before the board meeting.

Trustee Hatch's response
to all these problems is to not meet for 3 more months.

If the school district tried to contact me in the fall of 2009 as they reported
they didn't..The first I know of any over payment was on December 28th, when a
knock on my door revealed the sherrif, gun, badge and all and a law suit in his
hand. I thought it was a joke..when the sherrif left I went to my computer and
pulled up my bank records and found that FWISD had not paid me any money at all
since I retired. When I call FWISD to let them know that they made a mistake I
didn't get the money they claimed I did..they said well it was from the year
before, but I was still working and all the money I received I had worked
for..The school district won't take my word that I don't owe that money and they
won't show me any proof that they paid me that money..If that money is missing
then the only thing I can say is they did not pay it to me..Frances Saperstein

The date was December 18th not the 28th...My first notice from FWISD that there
was a problem in that they thought they over paid me was the week before
Christmas...when the sherrif delivered my notice that I was being sued...And no
one from FWISD has called me or tried to negotiate any thing with me
personally..I have received no calls..no money..Just the suit..
