SXSW Picks The Burning Hotels The Burning Hotels have been invited to play a SXSW -sanctioned showcase this year on Wed., March 17, at 1 a.m. at Jaime’s on Red River, bringing the grand total of Fort Worth bands selected to play sanctioned showcases in Austin to five. The other four are Best Fwends , Complete , Jessie Frye , and Telegraph Canyon .
Two other Fort Worth artists have non-sanctioned shows lined up, bringing the grand total of 817-related artists playing non-sanctioned shows to about a thousand . Holy Moly is playing Fri., March 19, at Darwin’s Pub as part of a Red Gorilla showcase, and Clint Niosi will be playing on Wed., March 17, at Dominican Joe, the site of Fort Wizard (where the Hotels will also play), and on Sat., March 20, at Thunderbird Coffee.
