The trick to Texas Style's simple, delicious fried chicken is, apparently, making it in small batches. Like the mills of the gods, the lines at cash register and drive-thru move excruciatingly slowly; diners entertain themselves with a vision of crispy-on-the-outside, juicy-on-the-inside tender chicken arriving (eventually) hot and fresh, all but made to order. Fried okra and lightly mayoed slaw are better than average.
