Mary Crabb at White Elephant Saloon
106 E Exchange Av, FW

Crabb, 52, is far from crabby. She's doled out longnecks and cocktails at the White Elephant for 24 years, and earned a legion of admirers for her good-natured smile and efficiency. Semi-retired now, she has whittled her workweek to Thursdays and Fridays from noon to 7:30 p.m. but vows never to retire completely. Her motto, she likes to say, is to treat customers like they were guests in her house.
