Getting dubbed the chicken fried champ around these parts is an immense honor, and we gave serious thought to this category. Yes, Jubilee is just down the road from Fort Worth Weekly and we could be accused of being homers. Still, Jubilee's chicken fried steak could make a vegetarian stray. The gravy is on bottom, which is atypical but makes karmic sense. The thick batter is fried to a golden crisp on the outside, yet remains moist and soft on the inside. This yummy yin-yang effect wrapped around a steak so tender it cuts with a fork makes it the best, especially when it's offered on the daily lunch special for $5.95 (which includes all-you-can-drink tea).
