Within spitting distance of several chain competitors, CDX stands tall on stacks of independent/underground/hard-to-find gems. Subgenres of punk abound, as do local artists, but there's something here for everyone. "Our crowd is anybody who's against music as a commercialized entity," says manager Warren Snipes. Snipes and owner Craig Crafton wrest a lot of customer care from their low mark-up: they remember individual tastes, go the mile for special orders, host live shows every weekend, and generally are great guys to hang out with.
