Best Freeway to Avoid
Airport Freeway, or Texas Hwy 121, between Fort Worth and Dallas

Driving becomes a near-death experience on this stretch of highway. We'd rather drive rusty nails into our eyes. About 200,000 motorists, some of them genuine psychopaths, barrel down the highway each day at insanely fast (or excruciatingly slow) speeds. During rush hours, a red ant could outpace a Jaguar. Frequent construction projects, wavy road surface, numerous entrances and exits, narrow shoulders, sharp objects on the highway, accidents, and rubber-neckers easily make this the concrete slab to hate. Throw in a surrounding urban sprawl blandness, and, oh never mind, we're too depressed to even think about it.

Readers' Choice: South Freeway (I-35W)
