Best Improvement to the Downtown Skyline
Removal of the Remains of the Calvary Cathedral

The cathedral's skeletal hulk standing astride the Trinity River, right where the 2000 tornado entered downtown, was becoming a bit depressing to look at every day. The church itself had moved on to another facility, so it was time the building went away. It did, this summer, in one swift demolition. If only the owners of the Bank One Tower could move so swiftly.
