George Call and Keith Knight, two members of the power metal quartet, Aska, were looking over their menus at a local Don Pablo's when the waiter, a 19-year-old kid named Josh, approached. "I told everyone it was Pantera sitting over here," Josh said, referring to Fort Worth-Dallas' largest metal export. "I knew it was you guys." Now, Call and Knight could have set the lad straight -- but that just would've taken too long and would've put Josh in a frame of mind unlikely to cut a couple of hot-shot celebrities a break on their check. Call smiled wide. "Thanks, man," he said. "That's us." The young waiter left with drink orders, while Call explained: "We get this shit all the time. See -- " and Call looked himself and Knight over. Both were wearing their shoulder-length feathered hair down and were sporting at least one black article of clothing. "We look like rockers!"
The convenient assumption is that the thirtysomething members of Aska -- Call, Knight, Daryl Norton, and newcomer Danny White -- live in a time warp or in houses where the calendars haven't been changed since 1985.
