Madeline Gibbs, the ball-of-fire president of Fort Worth's League of Neighborhoods, worked the crowd like an old-time preacher calling for the faithful to let their voices be heard. Gibbs was the last -- and clearly the best -- act at Botanic Gardens last week at the kick-off of a privately funded p.r. campaign aimed at convincing voters that the City Council's recently proposed $273.5 million bond package is Cowtown's road to nirvana.
