Fort Worth Police Chief Jeff Halstead tried to quiet the uproar over the June 28 Rainbow Lounge raid by making several promises to improve communications with the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community.

Earlier today he announced his appointment of an interim liaison to the GLBT community.

Officer Sara Straten, a 17-year police veteran, will fill the role by attending meetings, events, and various GLBT functions and report to the chief.

Meanwhile, the police department will search for possible funding for a full-time position at which time Chief Halstead will seek input from various community leaders to ensure their involvement in the selection process.

“We’ve acted with urgency to quickly bridge the communication gap between the police department and the GLBT community,” Halstead said. “Our intent is to move forward in establishing a new relationship that consists of mutual understanding and respect.”

  1. Yo Check It.
Speaking of a Funky Liason with a Funky Liaison…

We’s like doing this crazy documentary on da lounge and we’s filmin’ these geezers and me mate Jamal like needs to pee and he says “yo check it, I’s gonna go relieve meself” and he like goes and opens the wrong stall door and like bam! he sees some crazy stuff with these two hillbilly geezers they wasn’t like all hip looking and metrosexual, they’s like wearing overalls and shit. They’slike trying to pull my man Jamal into the stall but he like runs outside and lucky films it all.

    Peace Out

  2. RanC1D that was too funny. Seriously though…why are we letting these spoo-poo pushers ruin our city? Why are people being conned into thinking that a gay community will be great for the economy? It is such bullshit. There are so many cities these gays can go to that should be heaven for them…Miami, Key West, San Fran – why here? They should GTFO.

  3. Oh Sammy,

I am always amazed at the ignorance of people sometimes. It’s a known
fact that gays have more disposable income, and do wonders to the areas
    they live in.

It’s time to trade in your “Op” shorts and members only jacket and
get a clue. I doubt seriously any of us poo pushers are interested in your
    bacwards ass.

  4. My dear, mixed up Sammy. You obviously know the Gay Revolution is coming to the Fort, and you’re scared. But really, you shouldn’t be. Nobody will be killed in the Gay Revolution. Oh, a few people will get less than exciting new jobs – Southern Baptists, for instance, will be employed in the fields for their impressive mule-like tenacity, but they’ll be treated humanely. Everyone will have a role.

But you, Sammy, will have a special role. I see your potential, even if you won’t admit it to yourself. Your new name will be “My Little Filet,” and you’ll sit beside my golden throne wearing Tony Dovolani’s season 3 costume from “Dancing with the Stars.” The combined scent of Marlboros, Strawberry Bubblicious, and Britney Spears’ Curious that I emit will erase your anxieties. Soon, polishing my size 12 spike-heeled boots of shiny, shiny leather will come to seem a privilege, not a duty. The “Dance Flo Ho” remix of Katy Perry’s latest single will lull you to sleep. Then you’ll wake up in the middle of the night with mascara-colored tears, sobbing, “Yes, it’s true! I AM your little filet! I always have been…”

Oh, and The Gay Revolution will also include federal income tax and Social Security benefits, various powers of attorney, and other family protections. Don’t be late!

  5. Shameful. Utterly shameful.

20 years ago almost everyone would look on this situation with horror and shame. The people involved would be ashamed and the police force would be in disgrace for even entertaining the notion of a “Gay Liaison”. Being gay used to be a shameful act only committed by the most depraved. Many people with gay tendencies left them alone and unexplored because of how aberrant and immoral it is. Shame is the proper emotion when dealing with anything that has to do with homosexuality. You folks that flaunt it try to bury the shame. Most of you try desperately to pretend it is not there, but deep down you feel it. You know that behavior is aberrant, deviate and morally wrong.

The Fort Worth Police department should be the most ashamed for not standing up to these people.

  6. Mr Gay Sex? er I mean Mr Gay Revolution,

Should I be able to marry my dog? I can tell by the way he stares into my eyes that it’s mutual. Please don’t judge us.

What about my sister? She wants to marry the seven hillbillies in the trailor next door? Can they have a group marriage. I figure that while you’re busy fucking up all our social institutions… I’m sorry I mean reforming our social institutions, you could look into that as well… oh and while you’re at it can you get me us some ObamaCare too?

  7. Feh,

    u said…
Most of you try desperately to pretend it is not there, but deep down you feel it. You know that behavior is aberrant, deviate and morally wrong.

Funny, I have NEVER felt that way. Never. How sad your view really is.

  8. Thanks most of you ignorant rednecks for proving to me that leaving Texas was one of the best decisions I ever made.

    {{rolling eyes}}}

  9. It’s sad how many people around here really do prove the “ignorant, hateful, bigoted redneck” stereotype. Several people in this comment thread, for example.

I love Texas but some of you make it hard to justify staying here with your brain-dead hatespeech. Get a life and stop trying to hold Texas in the dark ages of bigotry and prejudice. For a state that supposedly prides itself on its “independent” nature y’all sure love telling other people who they can and can’t love.

  10. You know… The real irony is that so many people who condemn LGBT people are so incredibly preoccupied with the idea of “icky, gross sex that *I* would never like!” If y’all would stop obsessing over sex for a minute and look at the real human beings behind that stereotypes you’re focusing on, you would see that this is *not* – at its root – about sex. This is about acknowledging the value and beauty of love… the importance of people living honestly instead of trying to hide who they really are… You know, all that stuff from church about “judging not” and “loving thy neighbor” and “not lying” and “letting your light shine?”

“Oh, but we *do* get to judge if we think you’re gross because you are different from us, right? And your light should be hidden if it doesn’t look exactly like ours, right? Because people who are different are *bad*.”

    Sigh.

(By the way, the idiotic “oh no! incest and bestiality!” remarks are completely irrelevant. Nobody in the LGBT community is looking to change any social standard related to either issue. Try having a discussion about the *real* issues instead of just spouting ridiculously unrelated ideas that somebody else put in your head for you.)

  11. It’s incredible that in 2009 there are still people as ignorant and hateful as some of the comments here reflect. What’s next, having KKK rallies on main street? Some of these comments are the exact reason why we are seen as a laughingstock of ignorant, redneck rubes. It’s my understanding that the city has had liaison officers for many constituencies in town, for many years. The fact is that numerous eyewitnesses have made statements demonstrating the authorities lied about their conduct in this situation. That must be brought into the light of day. Otherwise, we will descend into a fascist police state.

We live in a world where there are people different than ourselves. That isn’t changing and if you can’t deal with that, you’re going to be miserable. Some of us were thankfully taught as children that God made people different. Apparently, a lot of people around here weren’t taught that, and that is disgusting.

If everyone was the SAME, as in the world you’d apparently like to live in, how boring would that be?

  12. ” Halstead said. “Our intent is to move forward in establishing a new relationship that consists of mutual understanding and respect.”

It’s a new day Fort Worth.
Ignorance is a choice, You can change and you’ll feel so much better when you do. You’ll discover that it’s not the end of the world.

    “move forward”

  13. Since the FDPD has decided to provide homosexual deviants with an official liaison, perhaps further liaisons should be established to reach out to other deviants that might be harrassed by the PD in the future.

    Here’s a starter list:
    1. Liaison to the Coprophilia Community.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coprophilia
    2. Liaison to the swinger Community.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swinging
    3. Liaison to the Sadomasochism Community.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sadomasochist
    4. Liaison to NAMBLA (North American Man/Boy Love Association)
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_American_Man/Boy_Love_Association

Considering how tight the City of Fort Worth budget is these days why not just have a perverts liaison to deal with all these sick-asses?

  14. Looks like FWWEEKLY is selectively moderating this comments section. If your comments offend the liberal agenda er… I mean sensitivities of this pathetic rag, they’ll kill the comment. How sad.

  15. Chew on this… (no pun intended)
The female vagina was designed for intercourse. The vagina has natural lubricants, a network of
muscles supporting it, and is able to endure intercourse without damage. It can resist the
immunological actions that semen and sperm cause. The rectum cannot. Potentially dangerous
bacteria can be contained in the anus and rectum. Anal sex can transmit a whole host of sexually
    transmitted diseases.

  16. Thanks Prof Buddy. Again, it’s sad how our society is being conned by the gay community…we’re told we have to be sensitive, tolerant and accepting…but look at the beehive that gets stirred up when gay sex is described in explicit detail (one man’s penis through another man’s hairy anus & into a poopy rectum, ejaculating spooge into the feces, which is eventually discharged from that man’s body with subsequent defacations & bowel movements)….and we have give these people special rights?

  17. The gay community is supposed to be sensitive, tolerant & accepting…a lot of the gay posters here complete hypocrites – sad.

  18. HBG wrote: Some of us were thankfully taught as children that God made people different.

Actually those of us who are orthodox Christian were taught as children that people were born with a natural tendency to sin. (original sin) This tendency manifests itself differently in each person, but each of us has an inclination to do evil. Whether you like it or not sodomy is sin. Not only is it sin, but it’s a pertutual sin… a wicked lifestyle sin…. a mortal sin if you will whose tentacles will strangle those who engage in it.

  19. Here’s some more bible chat for ya Buddy:

    DEUTERONOMY 22:13-21
If it is discovered that a bride is not a virgin, the Bible demands that she be executed by stoning immediately.

    DEUTERONOMY 22:22
If a married person has sex with someone else’s husband or wife, the Bible commands that both adulterers be stoned to death.

    MARK 10:1-12
Divorce is strictly forbidden in both Testaments, as is remarriage of anyone who has been divorced.

    LEVITICUS 18:19
The Bible forbids a married couple from having sexual intercourse during a woman’s period. If they disobey, both shall be executed.

    MARK 12:18-27
If a man dies childless, his widow is ordered by biblical law to have intercourse with each of his brothers in turn until she bears her deceased husband a male heir.

  20. Professor Buddy says:
“The female vagina was designed for intercourse.”

    by Hilda Hutcherson, M.D.
Hilda Hutcherson, codirector of the New York Center for Human Sexuality at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. An obstetrician and gynecologist for more than 20 years.

Hilda Hutcherson, M.D. is the author of What Your Mother Never Told You about Sex
    The anus is dirty?
Early in our childhood, we are taught that the anus is dirty and should not be touched. Thorough hand washing after accidentally touching this area is stressed. You may also have heard similar sentiments voiced about your vulva and vagina, but of course stimulation of these body parts can certainly provide a multitude of pleasurable sensations.

With routine daily hygiene, the anus is as clean as other parts of your body. It does contain its own natural bacteria, though, and to avoid infections, you must never move anything from your anus to your vagina.

The anus contains a vast supply of nerves, and is one of our most sensitive erogenous zones. Stroking, massaging, and otherwise stimulating the anus can be intensely pleasurable. In fact, some women are able to orgasm from anal stimulation alone

Anal sex is harmful and unhealthy.
Many women fear that anal sex will cause hemorrhoids, fissures or tears. Some even fear that they may become incontinent and spend the rest of their lives in adult diapers. Pleasurable anal sex does not cause harm to your anus or rectum. And as long as your partner does not have a sexually transmitted infection, neither semen nor sperm are harmful to your rectum.

Anal sex is a perverted, unnatural act.
Anal sex has been an accepted sexual practice for centuries. In some cultures, women engage in anal sex with their male partners for sexual pleasure while protecting their virginity. You must decide for yourself what feels natural. If you are uncomfortable with any sexual act, don’t do it! You are in charge of what you do sexually.
Anal sex is enjoyed only by homosexuals.
Long considered a purely homosexual act, anal sex is enjoyed by many heterosexual couples as well. Anal sex is simply another option for sexual gratification and is unrelated to your sexual identity.

According to the CDC 39% heterosexuals have anal sex.

  21. Here’s some more for ya Buddy:

    * Jesus says nothing about same-sex behavior.
    * The Jewish prophets are silent about homosexuality.
    * Only six or seven of the Bible’s ONE MILLION VERSSES refer to same-sex behavior in any way — and none of these verses refer to homosexual orientation as it’s understood today.

Jesus preached at length about every other sin. He never mentions anything, not once about same sex behavior why would he leave this one out if it was such a damnable sin?

    Because it’s not, thats why.

  22. Hey Flo,

Since you feel that the human anus is so clean why don’t you and your little protestor friends lobby the health department to remove all the “wash your hands before returning to work” signs that are in Tarrant county restaurant bathrooms. How blatantly homophobic of us. Maybe you can start a “clean anus” campaign. I’m sorry for my ignorance.

  23. CG,

The devil can cite Scripture for his purpose. An evil soul producing holy witness Is like a villain with a smiling cheek.
    Shakespeare
Merchant of Venice i. iii. 93

  24. Buddy, you and your little babtist boyfriend Sammy have been citing scripture to suit your own needs.

The fact is, it’s not a sin. Homosexuality is a normal, natural part of human sexuality.

  25. Hey Beastiality,

you say “after sex take a shower.” Read the posting before using your baboon like keyboard skills to make an ass of yourself.

I’m only referring the foolish claim that a person’s ass is somehow clean.

  26. CG writes: Back at you buddy boy

    CG,

On my side is the Roman Catholic Church, the United Methodist Church, the Southern Baptist Convention, the various eastern Orthodox Churches, the Presbyterian Church in America, the Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth, as well as the newly formed Anglican Church in North America and the vast majority of Anglican world-wide, not to mention over 2000 years of Christianity.

On your side, you have poet Allen Ginsberg (member of Nambla), Aleister Crowley (the avowed Satanist), the gay biship of New Hampshire, Vicki Gene Robinson, and ol’ Screwtape himself, the Devil. Congratulations are in order, you’re in fine company.

  27. Beastie,

    … to answer your question…

that’s why I suggest you get married to a nice girl (assuming you’re a guy) and have a monogamous relationship. that’s the only way to avoid getting something.

  28. Buddy,
    The fact is you’re wrong.

The problem with a lot of Christians is that they accept whatever their pastor says as truth. If you would actually take time to look into the Bible, you would find that the ONLY place that says “homosexuality is a sin” is in Leviticus, right next to the verse that says eating pork is a sin. Jesus says later in the New Testament that the Levitical laws no longer apply.

That’s it (Period). pretty tame stuff in there about homosexuality being a sin. Now on the other hand take a look at these compared to anything about homosexuality:

Don’t you think that if homosexuality was such a horrible thing there would be something a little more harsh like those listed above?

The fact is you and your church have twisted things to your own liking. Picking and choosing which ones you let slide. Homosexuality is a normal and natural part of human sexuality, that’s why it’s not a big deal in your bible. That’s why Jesus never said a word about it. That’s why out of millions of verses in the bible, homosexuality is only vaguely mentioned a few times.
You and your church really need to look inside and try and figure out where the hate is really coming from.
I believe it is simply misinformation passed down to you and you believe it without any basis in reality.

  29. CG,

Within orthodox Christianity, sexual relations are only permissible between a man and his wife. Everything else is out of bounds. Homosexuality is wrong but no more than a guy who commits adultery or a person who sleeps around. If you want to really understand what the New Testament has to say may I suggest that you begin by reading about marriage. Also, I would suggest setting up an appointment with a priest so he can explain it to you in a non-contronational way.

  30. CG,

Let me give you a clue, if you want to argue with a Christian, focus on the New Testament. Unless you’re debating David Koresh or a Jehovah’s Witness, the Old Testament won’t come up.
Let’s start with Romans. Many people have called this book the Constitution of Christianity. Please read Romans Chapter 1 (you can do so at the bible gateway Web site.
In Romans 1 Paul shows how the Gentiles have failed to live up to the revelation of God that had been given to them. He describes the many evils they did while suppressing the knowledge of God revealed to them. Such evils included idolatry, fornication, maliciousness, disobedience to parents, hate for God, inventions of evil things, and homosexuality.
Paul clearly points out, “Because of this [the suppression of truth resulting in idolatry], God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion” (Romans 1:26-27, NIV).
Let’s move forward to I Corinthians.
“Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.” (1 Corinthians 6:9-10, NIV)
This is a clear Biblical prohibition against this sort of behavior. Let me paraphrase it for you. If one goes around committing this type of behavior and doesn’t repent (i.e. turn away from it and stop) he or she will burn in hell for it. Period.
I’d also like to point out your lack of understanding of the little snippet from Mark that you posted. That line should be attributed to the Pharisees (enemies of Christ and the Church) who were trying to argue with Jesus. You’re incapable of having an intelligent argument on the subject.

  31. I think we’ve really, really gottten away from the discussion, haven’t we? (Sigh – lest I be STONED by the literalist zealots.) It seems to me that in a civilized world, intelligent people can disagree about matters of faith while still respecting one another. We don’t live in a theocracy. And thank God for that. See how well it’s worked out in Afghanistan and Iran?

  32. HBG says: people can disagree about matters of faith while still respecting one another.

I concede your point. It’s free country and people do have the right to engage in this sort of behavior, I wouldn’t suggest otherwise. I clearly don’t have to the right (and should never have it in the future) to force anyone else to adopt my views. My point is that for many of us, it’s highly objectionable on religous grounds and our rights have meaning too. I suppose we’re really debating the meaning of the word “tolerance.”

  33. Buddy, That’s total BS, you’ve twisted and added your on inturpertations. the point is it’s no more of a sin than eating a ham sandwich. And NOWHER does it say ANYTHING about burning in hell, you just threw that in for good measure. Do you troll around on sites about adultry and condem them? You must be one busy guy.

  34. Buddy,

The people the church condemns today will be vindicated (Mark 10:31) and judgment will be place on the people who view themselves as righteous before the Lord (Matthew 23:27-28, Matthew 23:13-15).

  35. So, what you’re advocating is that anyone having sex for pleasure is going to hell.
That means any man and woman even after they’ve had all the kids they want to have, if they have sex, they are going to hell because they are doing it for pleasure and not to have kids. So why do you single out homosexuality? You people make homosexuality sound like it’s the MOTHERLOAD of the sins and it’s not, not even close. You need to understand that homosexuality is a natural and normal part of human sexuality. I hope you and your church can take some time and really meditate on what’s really at the core of all this hate because it is a sickness inside of you that will eat you up eventually.

  36. CG,
You claim that I have come up with my own interpretation. No, I follow the same interpretation that the Church Universal has used for over 2000 plus years. I’m not advocating anything new. I’m just pointing out that Paul tells us in two separate places (Romans and 1 Corinthians) that it is sinful to commit homosexual acts. Your beef really isn’t with me, but with God.
You ask why do i single out homosexuality? Maybe it has something to do with the fact that a group of homosexual interlopers are showing up in my hometown trying to push an agenda that I find offensive.
I suggested earlier that you contact a Priest and sort this out. I still stand by that recommendation.

  37. Buddy,

It ain’t YOUR hometown – it’s a community. You’re not the dictator of Fort Worth, so get over yourself and your bigoted, small-minded ways.

  38. CG wrote: The people the church condemns today will be vindicated.

After writing that you cited Mark 10:31…
well let’s look that up… “But many who are first will be last, and the last first.” It will require some intellectual acrobatics to figure out how you came up with that one.

let’s put it in context…29 So Jesus answered and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife[e] or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s, 30 who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life. 31 But many who are first will be last, and the last first.”

Doesn’t even come close to what you wrote in your posting does it? Nope, It’s reminding us that even as we (as Christians) might suffer, we’ll be rewarded for that later (not materially, but spiritually)

  39. Mr heF,

It is my hometown, I was born here and you’re not a part of my “community.” As a matter of fact Webster’s Dictionary defines a community as “a unified body of individuals” Are we unified? Not hardly. Please drop the leftist “it takes a village” rhetoric and come back to Earth.

  40. Buddy,
I have no beef with God, my beef is with people like you. You need to understand that there is NO Gay Agenda. If there was it might look something like this:

    1. Equal Rights.

    End of Agenda.

  41. O.K. Buddy.
Now I feel bad for you. Seriously. I understand how you might feel about your home town. I was born here too, just try and see that all the things you’ve been taught about gay people are not true.
They are your friends, neighbors and even family. If you’d give them half a chance maybe you could get to know them and see that they are just normal people.
I get very defensive on this subject because I’ve had to listen to it all of my life and I know that it’s not true. How would you feel if every time you turn around some one is calling you names and damning you to hell.
I think we all need to have more understanding and education.

  42. Don’t feel bad every time Buddy starts to lose a thread, suddenly he has some kind of understanding or relation to the article. He is just trying to make you think he is qualified on commenting because he truly understands the story , and your opinion doesn’t matter.

  43. After reading the blotch posting about the partial FW PD report on the events at the Rainbow Lounge, I was struck by how history has a funny way of repeating itself.
    Genesis 19:4-9
4 Before they had gone to bed, all the men from every part of the city of Sodom—both young and old—surrounded the house. 5 They called to Lot, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us so that we can have sex with them.”

6 Lot went outside to meet them and shut the door behind him 7 and said, “No, my friends. Don’t do this wicked thing. 8 Look, I have two daughters who have never slept with a man. Let me bring them out to you, and you can do what you like with them. But don’t do anything to these men, for they have come under the protection of my roof.”

9 “Get out of our way,” they replied. And they said, “This fellow came here as an alien, and now he wants to play the judge! We’ll treat you worse than them.” They kept bringing pressure on Lot and moved forward to break down the door.

  44. Hey Boasterninny,

I agree is it fun. Dig the symbolism, Lot gave them flatbread because Leaven symbolizes corruption and pride as leaven “puffs up”

  45. and with the symbolism theme… unleavened bread also signifies “haste” as in “you better hurry up because this place is going to be on fire in a few hours.”

  46. buddy the aggressor
Are you asking me if it is fun?
    Yes.
So what you are saying is sodem was destroyed becouse they bake leavened bread?

  47. Buddy the molester
It doesn’t surprise me According to leviticus 11:12 you can be executed for eating shell fish. Sucks for Italy, all that delicious shrimp scampi, and crusty bread to soak up all the buttery goodness you think Rome would have exploded into flames by now. God is so strict about food, oh well its in the bible so it must be true.

  48. No, I’m sorry I switched my noun and verb accidentally in the earlier post. I meant to say yes the bible is fun. So, of course I don’t think Sodom was destroyed because of the bread thing. It was destroyed because of the ungodliness of its inhabitants, (one of the key symptoms of that ungodliness, was the practice of homosexuality)
Regarding strict Levitical law, that only found within the Old Covenant. I assume you’re fairly familiar with the Bible, remember Peter’s dream regarding unclean food?
So let’s not confuse Jewish dietary law with sexual morality.
So in memory of Walter Cronkite,
    That’s the way it is.

  49. One final point…
It the risk of appearign sacrilegious, let me just say that you won’t be able to find a bible verse whereby Peter had a dream that indicates that gay sex is no longer taboo.

  50. buddy the court jester

Some religious law was created as a kind of guidance, and foods were banned because they could cause illness or death. As time went by and we advance in food storage and hygiene most of this religious law became obsolete. This is where I get confused god is perfect and does not change.

you are not to tempt the Lord your God, you are to worship and serve Him alone, and you are to live by every word that proceeds from His mouth (Matt. 4:1-11).

There is no variableness in Him (James 1:17). From everlasting to everlasting He is God (Ps. 90:2). Therefore, because His holiness is unchanging, the law which reflects that holiness cannot be changed.
“I am the Lord, I change not” (Mal. 3:6)

The one who says ‘I have come to know Him,’ and does not keep His commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him” (I John 2:4)
