This week’s Static column talks about the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) offering money to Fort Worth to help reopen public pools in exchange for displaying an advertising campaign.
It’ll never happen. Fort Worth will never take the bite.
However, here is the ad poster that PETA wanted to place at our public pools if they ever get reopened. (Anybody got $12.5 million lying around in their sofa cushion? If so, send it to the city’s general fund and address the envelope to “Please open the damn pools, you skinflints!”)
