“RANDY RIDES ALONE” (1934), A JOHN WAYNE RARITY, WILL SCREEN SUN JAN 15.

This Sunday (Jan 15) at 2pm, the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History will screen the 1934 movie Randy Rides Alone as part of its John Wayne: Lone Star Westerns film series. The main thing you need to know is that veteran Fort Worth journalist, author, and film historian Mike Price has personally selected the flicks for maximum entertainment and trivia value. (Price, who will host the screenings, has a vast knowledge of movies most people have forgotten about).

Randy Rides Alone is a revenge drama in which Wayne – at the time a newbie actor in low-budget Westerns – pursues a band of bloodthirsty outlaws who framed him for a grisly barroom massacre. The other Wayne movies in the Lone Star series are The Star Packer (screening 2pm Jan 22) and Blue Steel (2pm Jan 29).
