The rockstar Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate in Texas is headed to Fort Worth for a rally at 6pm tomorrow/Friday.
Ned Flanders in the flesh, State Rep. Not-So-Sweet Baby James Talarico will appear at the Ridglea Theater (6025 Camp Bowie Blvd, Fort Worth, 817-738-9500) with several leading local lefties, including Democratic gubernatorial nominee Gina Hinojosa, to organize and fire up the already-fired-up troops. Already fired up? Nothing else explains the recent victory of Texas State Sen. Taylor Rehmet in a formerly +17 MAGA district just a few months ago.
Talarico, after defeating Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett in the primary, will take on the winner of the GOP runoff between corrupt state AG Ken Paxton and U.S. Sen. John Cornyn on May 26. The sundowning golfer currently occupying the White House was supposed to endorse one of them to force the other out but could not be bothered between starting WWIII, golfing, lying about the Epstein files, whining about the 2020 election, golfing, trying to make voting next to impossible, bilking us taxpayers out of billions of dollars, and golfing.
Some rag that shall go unnamed recently tried to paint the 36-year-old Talarico as a demon because he happens to be an actual Christian, someone who’s read the Bible instead of acting like he wrote it by autographing overpriced copies of it and someone who also practices charity and forgiveness instead of sexism, racism, xenophobia, bigotry, and just general hatred like the average MAGA “Christian.”
“The president of the United States said I insulted Jesus,” James and the Giant Impeach recently posted. “You want to know what insults Jesus? Kicking the sick off their health care. Bombing schoolchildren in Iran. Deporting moms and babies. Covering up the Epstein files.”
Talarico blends his progressive version of Christianity with a populist message that’s top versus bottom rather left versus right.
A member of the Texas House since 2018, Jim Dandy also has not accepted a dime from AIPAC.
Driving home his platform, at South by Southwest recently, Top Jimmy went after the tech bros as they dismantle every once wholesome aspect of childhood for profit via social media.
For speaking truth to power and hewing to the New Testament, Talarico has seen the Austin area church to which he has belonged since he was 2 years old come under attack by keyboard warriors.
On Facebook, St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church pastor Jim Rigby said most of the attention they have received from Talarico’s fame has been “positive, but because we have also received some hostile press and an influx of negative communication, we have temporarily hired plainclothes security as a safety precaution.”
Talarico is looking to become the first Democrat to hold statewide office since the grunge era. First, he’ll need to energize Crockett’s heavily Black base, which won’t be easy because he never really appealed to The Community to begin with. Godspeed, sir.
