In celebration of the release of the film Practical Magic 2, B&B Theatres (8380 Davis Blvd, North Richland Hills, 682-900-2322) is hosting an event with an extra special vibe. At the Midnight Margaritas Mixology Tasting — which is actually at 7:30pm — you’ll sample three unique margarita cocktails, learn how they’re crafted, and discover the techniques behind each recipe so that you can recreate them at home. Other concessions will be available for purchase, including additional drinks and cocktails. Attendees must be 21+ and will be carded at the event. At this demonstration — you will not be cooking at this class — these acclaimed pastry chefs will create one of their most versatile and beloved creations: Vanilla Mascarpone Cream. BS Brewing (1408 Old Lehmann Rd, Seguin, 830-660-8124) has a community gathering. From 6pm to 7:30pm, live music and a sing-along will liven up Hymns & Hopps. As for the “hopps” part, they’ll have beer, sangria, and NA options like craft soda. The brewery and its kitchen will be open 2pm-8pm. Since this is a popular event, they recommend bringing your own chairs or picnic blankets along — even canopies for extra shade. There is no cost to attend.

Forty-three of Tarrant County’s finest dining destinations hit a major milestone this summer: the historic 30th anniversary edition of DFW Restaurant Week. When folks dined out at participating local restaurants, 20% of their meal benefited Lena Pope, the 96-year-old Fort Worth nonprofit dedicated to strengthening children and families through counseling, education, and behavior intervention programs. The month-long culinary celebration has been going on since early August, and today, Labor Day, is your last chance to participate. At noon, head to the Ironwood Event Center (5501 Thelin St, Ste 139, Fort Worth, 682-374-7310) for the Fort Worth Wine Festival. From noon to 8pm, sample 40+ types of wine, attend optional wine classes (held the Thursday before the event), and take home a souvenir wine glass. Use your complimentary Wine Fest Sheet for notes with the businesses in attendance as well as some educational materials to enhance your knowledge.
