After hating on a nascent Pride festival and overwhelmingly voting for the 34-count felon in chief, Keller might not be the best place to exist as anything other than white, rich, straight, and Christian. Why minorities move there, we have no idea — to be white-adjacent is just sad, so it can’t be that — but the North Tarrant County town of about 46,000 is not quite 100% white, rich, straight, and Christian, and Burger Vault is proof.

In response to a recent social post from the City of Keller welcoming the new joint at 841 N Tarrant Pkwy while mentioning that the menu features halal meat (essentially, beef treated according to Sharia law, which means humanely in this case), many supportive comments followed.

Along with a few hate-filled trolls.

“Halal meat???” posted Steve Quance. “WTF IS THAT? Is that a goat bride???”

“Since when did Keller turn pro Muslim??” posted Brandi Berryhill Vannoy.

“What in the Sam hell is HALAL MEAT???” posted Phyllis Boyer Coates. “Look up the word HALAL!!!!”

“No i [sic] dont [sic] want to spend $18 for meat that was sacrificed in the name of idols,” posted David Henson. “Yall need Jesus.”

In the defense of the city’s followers, many pro-business supporters pushed back against all the hate, often humorously.

“And their pricing is in Arabic numerals!” quipped Danny Cortez. “When will this stop?!”
