For anyone who wants to let their feelings on eminent domain be heard, the place to be at 7:30 AM next Tuesday, March 4, is the old courthouse at 100 W. Weatherford in Fort Worth.

The rally is being held for Steve Doeung, the last holdout against Chesapeake Energy’s eminent domain pipeline land grab on Carter Avenue. Doeung, the focus of a cover story in the Weekly by Jeff Prince just a couple of weeks ago, has a court hearing at 8:30 AM. He has no legal representation but the folks at the Carter Avenue Rescue Operation, who are hosting the rally, hope that the voices of the public raised against eminent domain will bolster his spirit as he takes the David stance against Goliath.

  1. Stand up Fort Worthers. The eyes of Texas are upon you!! The nation and even the world is paying attention. Show them your true colors. Don’t let dirty “greens” block out the RED, WHITE, and BLUE.

  2. This is a great opportunity to send a message, to carve a piece of history for ourselves and our children, to right a wrong and push back the seeds of tyranny. I’ll be there!!!

  3. Bring your kids and grandparents and hoot-n-holler all you want at 100 W. Weatherford. Just don’t come around 100 Energy Way, four blocks west of there, OK? I’ve had a rough few days, with getting run out of town Thursday by a bunch of rowdy Bostonians being the worst day yet. Remember, you are “citizens of the Shale”, so behave because as you’ve been warned many times “Get behind the shale”…or else.

  4. The date was right but it was actually on Thursday, Deborah. We couldn’t make it due to unforeseen circumstances. So what happened, FW Weekly? While we appreciate the liitle blurp about the event , we would appreciate even more a report on how it went anf what happened, esp. with Steve D.’s legal hearing since y’all had done a cover story about him just a couple months ago. Are you gonna leave us hangin’, Peter Gorman?
