Two new super-groups have big shows coming up. A band you first read about here way back in September of O-9, EPIC RUINS will perform at Lola’s Saloon (3726 W. 6th St., 817-877-0666) on Fri., Sept. 17. Featuring Jordan Richardson (drummer for Ben Harper’s Relentless7), Weekly scribe and ex-Darth Vato bassist Steve Steward, Jeff Dazey (Josh Weathers and the True+Endeavors), and Sam Anderson (Quaker City Nighthawks), EPIC RUINS recently wrapped up production on their forthcoming debut album. The Void Mariner and the Mystic Boogie of the Sacred Line also includes contributions from Michael “Big Mike” Richardson, Justin Pate (The Orbans), Kevin Aldridge (Chatterton), David Matsler (Quaker City Nighthawks), Jordan Roberts (Calhoun), and Walker Wood.

On Sat., July 24, In Memory of Man will play, also at Lola’s. Featuring members of Loaded Moses, The Feds, The House Harkonnen, and Microton, In Memory of Man recently wrapped up recording its debut EP at Sonic Ranch Studios (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Billy Gibbons, Ministry) in El Paso.
