There’s nothing unusual about a screening of Wim Wenders’ 1987 masterpiece Wings of Desire, except for the suspense over whether it’ll happen. Through his blog Adventures in Cinema, Andrew Welch is promoting a screening of the film that he’s holding on April 2 at the Cinemark theater in Denton, but only if at least 50 people purchase tickets through his event page. (No tickets sold at the door.) At the time of this posting, only three people have booked their spots, but the public still has until March 28 to make the screening happen. If you’re going to be up in Denton and want to see Wenders’ meditation on eternity from the point of view of an angel over the city of Berlin (and see it on the big screen where it belongs), now’s your chance.
