Scampi’s to Close, Change Name/Concept

After 14 years, the beloved Southside Mediterranean eatery will close its doors –– but only temporarily. The place will reopen in late spring as Jack Tanners Patio Grill and include a full-bar service, two patio areas, and a “family-inspired” menu. The retirement of chef Theo Diakis inspired the new direction. “Dad turned 76 in January,” said Ann Diakis-Shaw, who co-owns the operation with David Shaw. “Without Dad, there is no Scampi’s. He has been the heart of Scampi’s.”
