This morning at a Los Angeles World AIDS Day event, ex-NBA player and HIV/AIDS activist Magic Johnson announced he would put his name on three new treatment clinics in the U.S. along with the AIDS Healthcare Foundation. Those clinics will open in Brooklyn, Atlanta, and Fort Worth. Cowtown’s HIV/AIDS clinic will open in the existing AIDS Outreach Center, which impressed AHF with its operation and services. Johnson and AHF’s presence in North Texas is most welcome, as state legislators continue to grapple with HIV/AIDS funding cuts during budget deliberations.
