Peace Slam at Embargo

Posted February 1, 2012 by Jimmy Fowler in Blotch

The Fort Worth activist group Peaceful Vocations will host its 2012 Youth Poetry Slam 3pm Saturday (Feb 4) at Embargo (210 E 8th St, FW). It’s free. Area high school students will compete for cash prizes from $100 to $300 with poetic works under three minutes in length. The themes will cover the gamut of peace consciousness, from nonviolence to thoughts about military recruiters in high schools, loved ones in the military, and poverty draft.
