Beer and Tacos at The Where House

In 2013, smart phones and digital tablet devices can supply virtually everything an adult needs to be happy. Except beer. And face-to-face conversation. And tacos. The 21 and up crowd needs its own playground where beer-fueled conversation between taco bites can flourish, along with great recorded music, free pool, and open mic performances. One of Fort Worth’s d.i.y. venues, The Where House (2510 Hemphill St, FW), wants to be that playground with its Wherehouse Thursdayz! event 9pm tonight (Apr 11). Admission is $10 for this weekly b.y.o.b. celebration featuring recorded tuneage from DJ Databass, a dance floor, open pool tables, an open mic segment with local musicians, and a taco stand. Somewhere in there they’ll find time for skateboarding demonstrations, but right now, we’re too smitten by the “beer and tacos” thing to think about kickturns and nosegrinds.
