Take this quiz: Summertime is meant for A) frolicking in the water B) soaking in the rays C) finding good excuses to stay in the air-conditioning. If C) is your answer, and you’ve got kids, then there’s no better way to spend 55 minutes in the cool air than Theatre Arlington’s show “Law & Order: Fairy Tale Unit.” Written by Jonathan Rand and directed by veteran North Texas actor Lydia Mackey, this is a mini-production featuring an all-child cast from TA’s Centerstage Camp summer camp. The mystery of who injured Humpty Dumpty involves fairy tale police and nursery rhyme district attorneys including The Little Mermaid, Little Red Riding Hood, Three Blind Mice, and the Three Little Pigs. Expect adult-friendly, subtle (or not so) references to “The Hills,” “Gossip Girl,” and other popular TV shows. “Fairy Tale Unit” runs for just two more days. Word from an insider: The grownups at today’s show were laughing as hard or harder than the tykes.
