Fort Worth’s most popular old-timey indie-rock band Telegraph Canyon will make its Bass Performance Hall debut on Fri., Aug. 21, opening for the wildly popular North Texas-originating alt-country outfit The Old 97’s. Expect to hear new tuneage from Telegraph’s recently completed, eponymous sophomore disc, produced by Centro-matic frontman Will Johnson.

The Fort Worth connections to The Old 97’s don’t stop with Telegraph: Local indie-rockers the cut*off opened a string of dates for 97’s frontman Rhett Miller and company on a recent U.S. tour. Both the cut*off and Telegraph are Music Awards ’09 nominees, BTW, and will be performing at our annual festival, Sun., June 28. I’m sure you’re sick of hearing about it. Tix for the 97’s/Telegraph show go on sale on Saturday.
