The Jayhawks, The Low Anthem, Ben Folds, Bob Mould, Ludacris, The Decemberists, and several dozen other big names, including Fort Worth’s The Burning Hotels, have donated songs to a Haiti charity effort by Paste magazine. Via the fund- and awareness-raiser, “Songs for Haiti,” Paste will spread proceeds among three active charities in Haiti: Doctors Without Borders, Red Cross, and Wyclef Jean’s Yele Haiti Earthquake Fund. The magazine says, “We don’t think people should donate to the relief efforts in Haiti just to get a reward,” namely a song or songs. “But [‘Songs for Haiti’] gives Paste and artists a way to help, using the thing we’re most passionate about: music.” Local artists, upload your songs here.
