This Saturday (July 30) 1-4pm, the Kimbell Art Museum presents a free family festival entitled Art Spark. The event will feature live performances inspired by works on display at the Kimbell – very likely including images from their current exhibit Picasso and Braque: The Cubist Experiment, 1910-1912 – as well as kid-friendly movies and “creative art-making activities.” No registration is required. The afternoon is designed to explore the small, often mundane moments and events in life that inspire great artistic ideas. My current favorite source of inspiration is air-conditioning, and the Kimbell will offer plenty of that for this free event.
