If you’re looking to give the holiday gift of art by local artists and support a North Texas filmmaker, check out the online auction and virtual art show Out of the Ashes. Painters, photographers, illustrators, and designers have donated their work to help writer/director Robert L. Camina fund the final stretch of his documentary Raid of the Rainbow Lounge, about the now historic June 2009 raid of the Fort Worth gay bar by police and TABC agents. A final cut of the film is tentatively scheduled to make its Fort Worth premiere in March.
