Fort Worth’s own T Bone Burnett produced a new album with Elton John that, based on the buzz, sounds like a killer.
Rolling Stone reports today that Burnett suggested a stripped down backing band of piano, bass, and drum, along with Texas guitar slinger Doyle Bramhall contributing. John’s great but oft-missing collaborator, lyricist Bernie Taupin, was also involved, so that bodes well.
The Diving Board is due out this fall. Burnett was a Fort Worth Weekly Music Awards Hall of Fame inductee in 2011.
