NEW FORT WORTH VENUE
On Thursday, Jul. 19, a new DIY/underground venue will open at 3000 Race St. in the old Riverside Ballroom by Dino’s Sports Bar & Grill and Fuzzy’s Taco Shop. Until closing abruptly last month, 2826 Arnetic was a 5,000-square-foot “jam band and hip-hop-heavy venue,” according to Dallas Observer’s Daniel Hopkins, in Deep Ellum –– Arnetic’s owner Frank Maldonado had run into problems with Dallas’ special-uses permit and chose not to renew their lease. “It’s a happy moment for us to be moving to a bigger place,” Maldonado told Hopkins.

The old Riverside Ballroom is approximately 13,000 square feet. Fortunate Youth and Tatanka are scheduled to perform the inaugural show. In a press release, Maldonado says, “With this larger space and higher capacity we will be able to bring in more headliners as well as create an amazing platform for all the local DFW talent to thrive and grow with us.”
