Some fans of the National Basketball Association’s New Orleans Pelicans think the team mascot is ugly and rather sinister looking.
USA Today called Pierre the Pelican “terrifying” when the mascot debuted in October.
Now the Pelicans are announcing that Pierre will undergo reconstructive surgery to make him more appealing.
What they don’t realize is that people inexplicably grow fond of scary-ugly over time.
