Wednesday 29 – The Southwest Car Wash Association Annual Convention takes place this week at Fort Worth Convention Center, with a keynote address from, uh, former U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney, who may or may not have ever even used a car wash. Thursday 30 – Apex Arts League and Onstage in Bedford combine to put on a live radio show tonight, reminiscent of the shows made 100 years ago that combined live musical performances with theatrical performances, comedy sketches, and commercials. Friday 31 – James Corden made his name starring in the West End production of One Man, Two Guvnors, a farce about a man working for two rival gangsters in the British seaside resort of Brighton. Saturday 01 – Casa Mañana Children’s Playhouse presents the world premiere of a new musical called Frank-N-Friend, in which a new kid in school decides to protect himself from being bullied by building himself a robot protector. The new show runs Sat thru Feb 16 at Casa Mañana Theatre, 3101 W Lancaster Av, FW. Tickets are $19-37. Call 817-332-2272.

Sunday 02 – A brilliant composer who died of bronchial pneumonia when she was 25, Lili Boulanger is one of the great unheralded voices in French music. Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra plays her D’un matin de printemps this weekend, along with Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations and Berlioz’ Symphonie fantastique. All under the baton of Yaniv Dinur, the concerts are Fri-Sun at Bass Performance Hall, 555 Commerce St, FW. Tickets are $22-97. Call 817-665-6000.

Monday 03 – Tonight, the Luther College Nordic Choir comes to First Presbyterian Church to perform a program of religious music. While there are pieces of classical music such as Giovanni Gabrieli’s “Angelus Domini” on the bill, there are also more modern works such as Craig Hella Johnson’s Considering Matthew Shepard and Pavel Chesnokov’s “O Lord God,” the choir’s traditional benedictory piece. Tuesday 04 – Most of the big movie theater chains are running Best Picture Showcases that screen the Oscar nominees for the top honor, but Harkins is the only one that’s running them during the week as well as on the weekend. Tonight, you can take your pick of 1917, Joker, Little Women, or Parasite. The screenings continue thru Feb 13 at Harkins Southlake, 1450 Plaza Pl, Southlake. Single tickets are $10. Passes are $35.
