Embattled singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran is set to play AT&T Stadium on Sat, Oct 24.
On Sat, Nov 7, doubly embattled rapper Kanye West will also perform at the Arlington home of the Dallas Cowboys.
One has written a song called “Heil Hitler,” praising the WWII German chancellor responsible for the deaths of 6 million Jewish people and ~65 million U.S. and Allied soldiers and civilians.
The other was told he could not play the venue — or any other stadium in the country — unless he gave the boot to his former opening act, Macklemore, who supports a Palestinian state.
The other guy, the Hitler lover? He’s still touring, and his AT&T Stadium show is still on the books.
While the powerful, old white men in charge deem Macklemore an antisemite, they have said nothing about West, who, again, recently wrote and released a song honoring easily the biggest antisemite in history.
It seems the deaths of 6 million Jews and millions of U.S. and Allied soldiers and civilians do not count nearly as much as an artist saying, “Free Palestine” in public. That’s where the billionaire class draws the line. If we knew any more, we’d tell you, but Static is at a loss.
