Everything everywhere all at once! Art by Jennifer Bovee

With Halloween this weekend, it’s not too soon to start planning your Thanksgiving and the winter holiday of your choice. In fact, Happy New Year! (That escalated quickly.) Before we tackle Turkey Day, let’s back this up and start with the Weekly’s biggest thing for November. Voting soon opens for our annual Music Awards.

Month of November

Fort Worth is home to some of the best musicians in North Texas, so much so that you (yes, you) are worthy of your very own super-special awards season. That’s why we did not include music categories in this year’s Best Of issue. Instead, your time to shine is now. From Wed, Nov 5, thru Tue, Nov 30, readers can participate in the Nomination Phase of the Music Awards by nominating their favorite local bands and musicians via a write-in ballot. The format will be like the Best Of ballot. You’ll be able to write in your choices in our select group of categories, plus there will be a Wildcard field for writing in what you think we’ve overlooked. We’re only human. Then, the bands and musicians with the most votes, along with additional selections from our small-but-mighty band of music writers, will move on to the Voting Phase. For the full month of December, Weekly readers will pick their favorites from the final list. During both the Nomination Phase and the Voting Phase, this is limited to one ballot per person. (Don’t try to cheat. We always catch you.) As for the awards ceremony, sometime in the first quarter of 2027, we will have a fabulous event announcing and celebrating the 2026 winners, honoring those we have lost, and inducting a few luminaries into our Hall of Fame.

There’s a lot going on this week. Along with our editorial team presenting its annual Turkey Awards, a bizarro Best Of about the worst of the worst, we have an advertising section called Shop Local. This is where you’ll find local options for Black Friday, Small Saturday, Museum Gift Shop Sunday, Cyber Monday, and more. To help our beloved printer have a happy Thanksgiving as well, we’ll be moving up our deadline to Mon, Nov 23, this week.

Wed, Dec 2

While we’re working our way out of our collective #TurkeyComa, this week will be a regular issue, although there will be an advertising section called Gift Box, running weekly thru Dec 23, with some gift-giving ideas, including local, regional, and nationwide. Whose aunt needs a wine club membership? lolz. By Fri, Dec 4, we’ll be wide awake, because …

Holidays 2026 is here, in all its glossy-covered, staple-bound glory. This special issue will be on heavy-stock paper and filled with seasonal info from cover to cover, from the best places to shop, eat, and drink, to holiday entertainment ideas and more. In addition to distribution in the stands today throughout the area, Holidays 2026 will be available on countertops at many hot spots around town through the end of December and as a digital flipbook on FWWeekly.com all year long in our Magazines drop-down. Business owners, Fri, Dec 4, is when we hope to get your space reserved. You’ll have until the end of the day on Mon, Dec 7, to get those ads in.

Wed, Dec 16 & 23

Happy New Year! Where the party at? We’ll let you know. Meet us in the center spread for NYE party ideas for ringing in 2027. Me? I’ll be at the Toadies on eve-eve, so by midnight on Dec 31, I’ll be zzzzzz.

Need Space?

Business owners, we know how hard it can be to decide how best to promote your business. Along with the special issues and sections above, we have comprehensive weekly coverage that includes print, email, online, and social. Our normal deadlines are Tuesdays, but for special issues, we need a bit more lead time. Reach out by the Friday prior for those. If you’re interested in reserving space, please contact your FWW representative ASAP via email marketing@fwweekly.com or submit an inquiry at FWWeekly.com/advertise-with-us.
