Curtis Smith, pastor of Arlington’s Trinity Metropolitan Community Church, is calling on the LGBT community and its supporters – especially the Christians among them – to attend tonight’s (Tuesday) 7pm meeting of the Fort Worth City Council at City Hall, 1000 Throckmorton St, downtown FW. An anti-gay Christian group called Believers Stand United is planning to address the council tonight and kvetch about the list of 20 recommendations from Fairness Fort Worth – including a nondiscrimination employment policy for LGBT city workers – that the city has either enacted or is considering. Pastor Smith would like to show the council that many Christians support the LGBT movement for inclusion and parity. Look for some passionate exchanges tonight.
