While children absorb way too much of our collective attention –– attachment parenting, anyone? ––– a festival of plays written by kids for kids sounds groovy: Watching priorities and worldviews take shape in young people is often fascinating. And if you think Stage West is taking its Third Annual Festival of the Kid any less seriously than it would a staging of new short plays by grownups, they have enlisted three critically acclaimed North Texas actors –– Chuck Huber, Justin Flowers, and Rob Bosquez –– to direct a dozen short pieces by Fort Worth ISD student authors. The Festival of the Kid happens 7pm May 14-16 at Stage West. Tix are $5-$10.
