New York City!?! Get A Rap

Posted May 31, 2012 by Jeff Prince in Blotch

When it comes to picante sauce, Texans say “get a rope” if it’s been made in New York City.

When it comes to fracking for natural gas, however, New Yorkers in the Marcellus Shale sound a lot like Texans in the Barnett Shale.

NYU journalism students created “My Water’s On Fire Tonight (The Fracking Song)“, a rap video about hydraulic fracturing aka “fracking” (the verb that keeps on giving in the form of a thousand potential puns).

Lyrics were based on this ProPublica report.
