Here’s how my naïve, trusting, Texas brains works: I figured one good thing about the collapse of the financial institutions and the resulting massive federal bailout, is that the entire system would be humbled, reigned in, monitored more carefully, yadda yadda.
So why am I not surprised that American International Group (AIG), the biggest freeloader of them all, is making suckers out of taxpayers by getting cozy again with disgraced founder Hank Greenberg?
Remember, it was under his watch that hundreds of millions of dollars were paid in bonuses to company bigwigs, while the company was doing questionable business, tanking, and begging for corporate rescue.
