Tonight on KERA-TV Channel 13, ”Monty Python Week” begins with hour-long “personal best” episodes through Oct 9 at 10pm that were hand-selected by John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin. (Graham Chapman died of throat cancer in 1989). Channel 13 was, of course, the public TV station that got America hooked on gay lumberjacks, dead parrots, and men with three buttocks back in 1974.

The world broadcast premiere of the doc “Monty Python Before and After” airs this Saturday night at 7pm. Yesterday’s “NYT” featured an interesting article on the 40th anniversary of “Monty Python’s Flying Circus.”
